“ I went there with two friends and we all got different breakfasts. First of the all the staff is extremely kind and professional, answered our questions patiently and helped with our choices. Each item on the plate was fresh and well cooked. They even replaced an item I don’t like. The place is quiet and though there are lots of customers coming and going, nothing got delayed, there was no confusion etc. Also there are plugs in case you need. Recommended. ”

The best part is that you can choose exactly how you want your meal and they prepare it the way you like. Unlike many restaurants, they are flexible and happy to make changes instead of forcing a fixed menu. The staff are friendly, the prices are good, and the overall experience is great. In my opinion, this place deserves to be more well known so more people can enjoy such good food at a fair price. ”

“ Right, so last week I ended up at Poppings in Barking for breakfast 'cause, well, I was starving and it was there. Honestly, the name kinda made me think it'd be all trendy and Instagrammable, but nah, it's a proper old-school cafe, which I was actually pretty happy about. The inside's nothing special, just your typical tables and chairs, but it's clean, and that's what matters, right? I was proper craving a fry-up, so I went for the full English. It came with all the usual suspects - bacon, sausage, egg, beans, toast, the whole shebang. Now, I'm a bit of a fry-up connoisseur, and I gotta say, it wasn't bad at all. The bacon was crispy, the sausage was decent (not those cheap rubbery ones, thank god), and the egg was perfectly runny. The beans were, well, beans, can't really mess those up, can you? The toast was toasted, which is always a plus. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the black pudding - it was a bit dry for my liking. But hey, can't win 'em all, eh? Oh, and the coffee was strong, which is exactly what I needed after a late night. The staff were sound, really friendly and up for a laugh. They were quick to bring the food out, even though the place was pretty busy. And the price? Can't complain at all, it was a proper bargain. So yeah, Poppings isn't gonna blow your mind, but if you're after a decent, no-nonsense breakfast that won't break the bank, it's definitely worth a shout. I'd go back for sure, especially if I'm feeling a bit rough after a night out. Proper hangover cure, this place ”

“ I feel you can always tell from the outside if a greasy spoon type of establishment is worth entering by the amount of workmen eating inside Therefore it was without hesitation that I entered Poppins earlier this week, as it was brimming with people in orange or fluorescent colored clothing. There is a huge variety on the menu with option of add-ons, and this is not limited to just cooked breakfasts. We were seated and served quickly, but at no point felt hurried. Poppins was a wonderful find on a miserable wet morning. ”
